Basic Measuring Instructions

  1. Use a measuring tape to take measurements when the person is standing.
  2. Measure around the fullest part of the bust, waist and hips, remembering to keep the measuring tape comfortably snug but never tight.
  3. There are three ways to measure a person's inseam:
    1. Measure the inseam of a pair of pants that fit the person well.
    2. While the person is standing, measure for their inseam by placing the end of the measuring tape at the top-most part of the person's inner thigh and while keeping the measuring tape taut, measure down the leg to the desired length (by the foot).
    3. The sitting inseam - if the person being measured must remain seated it may be difficult to locate the beginning of the crotch seam, in which case, add 2" to your measurement to allow for gathered fabric.
